Just tested it, I use Brave as well. It did not happen to me. Probably just a false positive from an early download attempt.

You need to hold down the cancel button (X on keyboard). Included in 01d_Game_Controls.

I agree. I came here to say that. Not sure it's a "female protagonist" at least not in the traditional sense, but screwing with her from behind the scenes has been interesting so far.
